Fungicides labeled for use on ornamental
trees and shrubs
Fungicides are often useful in the management of plant diseases when used
properly. The following is helpful to keep in mind when considering the use of
a fungicide:
- Know what disease you are targeting as proper identification can help with
timing the application of fungicide to achieve maximum control.
- Many of these fungicides work as protectants, therefore the fungicide must
be in place before the pathogen arrives.
- Often doing nothing is as effective as spraying at the wrong time, obtaining
poor coverage, or using a fungicide that is not appropriate to the disease.
- Although a chemical may be labeled for a particular disease it may not be
labeled for the plant use or site use. Therefore it is extremely important to
consult the label for exact use. Always read and follow directions.
