Mimosa (Silk tree or Albezia)

Fusarium wilt (fungus)

Leaves turn yellow, wilt, shrivel and hang downward on one or more branches. Brown streaks under bark. Cut and remove seriously affected trees. Plant wilt-resistant varieties. Although resistant clonal cultivars have been released, the resistance has been over come in some instances. For more information, check supply catalogs or with local nurseryman.

Mimosa web worm

Foliage webbed together. Affected foliage turns brown.

Winter injury (nonparasitic)

Branches or entire trees die back over winter. Species is not reliably hardy in northern Missouri and cannot do well there.
